We will head along the avenue of volcanoes towards the south of the country and the first stop we will make will be at the southern viewpoint of the city of Quito, then we will head towards the Cotopaxi National Park where we will visit the Liquipungo lagoon, we will take a tour along its path while our guide explains about the flora and fauna of the place, as well as about the lagoon. Its clear but icy waters are surrounded by small hills and hills. It has a magnificent panorama for photography in a frame of elevations such as Cotopaxi, Sincholagua and Rumiñahui. Here you can observe a great variety of birds, herds of llamas and some other species of mammals, especially rabbits and deer, among others. Our next stop will be at Hacienda la Ciénega where we will enjoy a delicious lunch (not included) and rest while we take a tour of this colonial hacienda, one of the oldest in Ecuador, more than 200 years old. We will have the unique experience of staying within its two-meter-thick volcanic stone walls that are silent witnesses to the history of a town and the poetry of an era where Alexander Von Humboldt stayed.
One of the best desserts we can taste in the area is Salcedo ice cream, and we will have one as we head towards the city of Ambato where we will make another stop at the famous and unique fruit stands produced by the surrounding areas where it is common to see merchants along the way. We will arrive at the province of Chimborazo and check in at the Hostería Andaluza, one of the best accommodations in the area.
